The Church
they knock on my door..
they phone me..they blare on my radio..
they even rave on my TV..but
who are they?..they are the lost souls
who can't rest without telling me and
you that we must be lost without them..
and they in their blindness forget how to see
and then forget that they are blind..
they scream their morality and remind us
we will be punished unless we become
faceless slaves of their faceless god..
we must march in step like storm troopers
who scream obedience to their masters..
who risk death and torture at bloody hands..
they promise everything a soul could want
but we must obey them for vacant promises..
or be threatened by the lies of heaven and hell..
i turn away and refuse their obsessions
and refuse their self imposed morality..
for i refuse such limitations so imposed,
and know i will never be owned by any of them,
and they will keep knocking and screaming
and i will keep saying no.......
