The Night
in the night there is a darkness,
lighted maybe by the moon..
or maybe by stars or man's light,
and dark shadows may then loom
to stir concern in any passerby, and
in the night, so may there be the
shadow of death to lurk for the wary,
and life must run from this ever
pursuing devil..until the respite that
comes from the morrow dawn when all
may rest until the dark shadows of night
descend for another haunt by death..
but the night may be a refuge within
the shadows where lurks the unseen and
the unknown..for i find comfort in knowing
that life and death hath the same melody..
and in the shadows of night, so is life
and death the same...
